Fossils

Occasionally, in the suite, there are interbeds and lenses of reddish-gray limestones, in which the Lower Serpukhovian Goniatites are found in the very base of the suite. In the lower part of the section, according to I.V. Pyzyanov) there are remains of Goniatites Goniatites ex gr. granosus Portlock, Paragoniates newsoni (Smith.), Platygoniatites molaris Ruz., Cravenoceras sp., Uralopronorites mirus Lib., characteristic of the very lowest horizons of the Serpukhovian (Namurian) stage.

Age

Fossil data indicates Serpukhovian, but being the lowest in the section, it is considered as middle Visean for schematic stratigraphic representation.
